IIST B.Tech 2019 Admission Schedule Released, Application Available from May 22

Institute of Space Science and Technology (IIST) has recently released official notice for admission to undergraduate programs in the institute. According to the notice, the registration process for IIST admission commences from May 22, 2019. The notice also said that the registration window will close on 5th June 2019. The institute also said that it will also release the admission brochure for the aspiring students on 5th May 2019. Here are other all the important details you need to know for IIST Admissions 2019:

The most important thing to mark in the notice is that IIST has made it clear that the admissions to the undergraduate programmes will be strictly based on the scores of students in the JEE Advanced 2019. So, there will be no other mode for admission to the institute, no other entrance exam will be conducted and only the JEE Advanced 2019 marks will be considered for the admission process. So, IIST has set JEE 2019 as the admission gateway for the institute.

For admission, the candidates will have to register by filling the IIST Admission 2019 application form. After this, the merit list based on scores obtained in JEE Advanced 2019 for registered candidates will be released by the institute.

IIST will open admission to 140 undergraduate seats via JEE Advanced 2019 scores. These 140 undergraduate seats are divided in three undergraduate programmes- 4-years B.Tech in Aerospace Engineering, 4-Year B.Tech in Avionics and 5-Year Dual Degree (B.Tech and Master of Science/ M.Tech). There are 60 seats in 4-years B.Tech in Aerospace Engineering, 60 seats in 4-Year B.Tech in Avionics and 20 seats in 5-Year Dual Degree.

If we look at the opening and closing percentage of JEE Advanced scores considered for all the three programmes of the institute for 2018, we see that the opening and closing percentage for B.Tech (Aerospace Engineering) programme was 43.89% and 34.17% respectively for the general category. The opening and closing percentage for OBC candidates was 47.78% and 30.28% respectively while for SC candidates the opening and closing percentage was 33.89% and 19.44% respectively.

The opening and closing percentage for B.Tech (Electronics and Communication) programme was 66.94% and 33.05% respectively for the general category. The opening and closing percentage for OBC candidates was 33.05% and 27.22% respectively while for SC candidates the opening and closing percentage was 32.22% and 15.83% respectively.

The opening and closing percentage for Dual Degree (B.Tech + Master of Science/Master of Technology) programme was 52.78% and 36.39% respectively for the general category. The opening and closing percentage for OBC candidates was 33.33% and 26.11% respectively while for SC candidates the opening and closing percentage was 22.22% and 13.05% respectively.

So, all the aspiring candidates can expect the opening and closing percentage to be close to the above mentioned percentages for 2019 also.
